The game presents this as a choice as if you can only do one of them, but you can actually do both of them, and it’s actually recommended. Which route should you take in Baldur’s Gate 3 Act 1?

I’m trying to pass through the Underdark, I assume on my way to the Shadow Cursed Lands, and am somewhere between killing some Duergar for the Myconids, saving some Deep Gnomes the Duergar are working to death, and whatever else is going on down there.

Aug 16, 2023Yes! I recommend doing the mountain pass first but as long as you don’t COMPLETE one path before going back to the other one you can wander through both areas. So basically as soon as I make it to Moonrise towers fast travel to the Goblin Camp to get to the Underdark? Moonrise is too far as far as I am aware.

Can I do both Underdark and Mountain Pass? – Larian Studios forums 1 day agoWell, you can do both of them but only one can be done at a time. So, at first, you should go for the Mountain Pass. Then you can try it on Underdark. Mountain Pass has no side quests and is quite easy to complete. Whereas, Underdark is a completely different world in Baldur’s Gate 3 that has its side quests.

Mountain Pass has no side quests and is quite easy to complete. Whereas, Underdark is a completely different world in Baldur’s Gate 3 that has its side quests. Oct 23, 2023Alternatively, you can select the Mountain Pass if you want the fastest journey to Act 2. There’s only one forced combat encounter on your way to the Mountain Pass (assuming you lie successfully to the Githyanki). But the Shadow-Cursed Lands, which you’ll find soon after, can be quite challenging at a low-level.
